Bayern Munich are currently considering a move for Kyle Walker from Manchester City this summer, according to German journalist Florian Plettenberg.
There has been no contact between the Bundesliga champions and the representatives of the England international as of yet, with no decision made. They are aware that he might leave the Etihad this summer, and with Benjamin Pavard set to leave Munich, they will need a right-sided defender with plenty of experience, so it makes sense for Walker to be on their radar. But for the time being, that s as far as things have gone.
Walker has, of course, been a very important part of everything City have achieved under former Bayern boss Pep Guardiola, winning a total of five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, two Community Shields, and, of course, the 2023 Champions League.
However, trying out a few tactical tweaks in the second half of 2022/23 that involved the right-back moving into the middle of the park to help form a double pivot, Guardiola preferred John Stones for that particular task, and Walker was rarely in the starting XI. At the age of 33, he will be aware that his significance will only diminish further in the future, and with just 12 months left on his contract, it probably makes sense for City and Walker himself to part ways.
Excl. News : He’s on the list of FC Bayern! He was discussed internally as Bayern is aware of the fact that he could leave ! No contact between Bayern and his management yet. Bayern is monitoring him closely!
